Abstract
In July 2020, Singaraja City experienced inflation as high as 0.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 105.06. The inflation rate for the current year in July 2020 was recorded as high as 1.38 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019 or YoY) was recorded as high as 1.94 percent.
Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation, namely group X (provision of food and beverages / restaurants) as high as 1.25 percent; group IX (education) as high as 1.13 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.66 percent; group VII (information, communication and financial services) as high as 0.57 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.28 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.07 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, two expenditure groups recorded deflation (m to m), namely group IV (equipment, tools and routine household maintenance) at -1.11 percent and group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) at -0.04. percent. Two other expenditure groups recorded that the index did not change or were stagnant, namely group V (health) and VI (transportation).
Commodities recorded as contributing to inflation in July 2020 included pork, cayenne pepper, fried chicken, eggs, ready-to-eat meatballs, cell phones and kindergarten fees.
Of the 90 CPI cities, 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Timika as high as 1.45 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in two cities, namely Jember and Banyuwangi, each as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Manokwari as deep as -1.09 percent, while the lowest deflation was recorded in five cities, namely Gunungsitoli, Luwuk, Bogor, Bulukumba and Bekasi, each as deep as -0.01 percent. If sorted from highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 20 out of 29 cities experiencing inflation.
