In April 2022, Singaraja City experienced inflation as high as 0.89 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 110.87. The inflation rate for the calendar year April 2022 is as high as 1.96 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2022 versus April 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 2.52 percent
Six expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group VI (transportation) as high as 2.36 percent; group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 1.94 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.23 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.21 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.09 percent; and group VII (information, communication, and financial services) as high as 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, another expenditure group recorded deflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) of 1.14 percent. The other four expenditure groups recorded no change in the index or were stagnant, namely; group V (health); group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture); group IX (education); and group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants).
Commodities that have contributed to inflation in April 2022 include cooking oil, broiler meat, gasoline, filter kretek cigarettes, broiler eggs, shallots, kale, and inter-city transportation.
The ninety CPI cities recorded inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli City. If sorted from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 62 out of 90 cities experiencing inflation.
