Development of the Singaraja City Consumer Price Index for September 2022

Abstract

In September 2022 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.35 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 113.20. The September 2022 calendar year inflation rate was as high as 4.10 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2022 against September 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 6.09 percent

Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group VI (transportation) as high as 9.82 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance) as high as 1.05 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 0.75 percent; group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants) as high as 0.33 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.08 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.04 percent; and group VII (information, communication and financial services) as high as 0.02 percent. One group experienced deflation, namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as deep as 2.10 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure groups experienced no changes in index or stagnant, namely group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel); group V (health); and group IX (education).

Out of the 90 cities monitored for national inflation, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in the City of Bukittinggi (West Sumatra) as high as 1.87 percent, while the deepest deflation was recorded in the City of Manokwari (West Papua) as deep as 0.64 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 85th out of 88 cities experiencing inflation.
