Development of Bali Province Consumer Price Index May 2024

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y), Bali Province experienced inflation of 3.54 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2022=100) of 107.17. The highest inflation was recorded in Badung Regency at 4.01 percent with a CPI of 105.64 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Singaraja at 2.92 percent with a CPI of 106.64.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in the CPI in nine expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose by 7.71 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.56 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.10 percent; health group at 1.38 percent; transportation group by 1.87 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.17 percent; education group at 3.24 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 4.23 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.12 percent. Meanwhile, two groups recorded a decline in the index, namely the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group which fell by 0.22 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.01 percent.

On a monthly basis (month to month / m-to-m), Bali Province recorded deflation of 0.10 percent. Meanwhile, year to date (y-to-d) inflation was recorded at 1.68 percent.
