In April 2018 in Singaraja City recorded a deflation of 0.27 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI, 2012 = 100) of 141.37. The calendar year inflation rate (January - April 2018) is 1.22 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2018 to April 2017 / YoY) of 3.32 percent.
Deflation was indicated by the decrease of index in the foodstuff category by 1.41 percent.
The recorded commodities contributing to deflation in April 2018 include: cayenne pepper, rice, vegetable tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, snacks, squid, chicken eggs, fresh anchovies, carrots, apples, granulated sugar, wet shrimp, cooking oil, kale, household fuel and beans.
Out of 82 CPI cities, there were 28 cities experiencing deflation and 54 cities experiencing inflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku) of 2.26 percent and the lowest recorded in Medan (North Sumatra), Bandar Lampung (Lampung) and Tegal (Central Java) respectively 0.01 percent. While the highest inflation recorded in Merauke (Papua) of 1.32 percent and the lowest recorded in Padang (North Sumatra) and Kudus (Central Java) respectively by 0.01 percent.
