Abstract

In April 2018 the city of Denpasar recorded an inflation of 0.07 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 129.49. The calendar year inflation rate (January - April 2018) was recorded at 1.82 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2018 to April 2017 / YoY) was 3.23 percent.

Inflation is indicated by rising indexes in five expenditure categories: clothing category recorded inflation of 0.88 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco groups recorded inflation of 0.33 percent; health group recorded inflation of 0.32 percent; transport, communication and financial services group recorded inflation of 0.30 percent; as well as education, recreation, and sports group recorded inflation of 0.01 percent. While the group recorded a decline in index / deflation is the foodstuff category of 0.25 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.19 percent.
