In July 2019 Singaraja City recorded an inflation of 1.03 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 145.60. The calendar year inflation rate was 2.33 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2019 against July 2018 or YoY) was 2.73 percent.
Inflation (m to m) is indicated by an increase in the index in four expenditure groups namely group I (foodstuff) by 3.26 percent; group II (prepared food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco) by 0.94 percent; group IV (clothing) by 0.32 percent and group V (health) by 0.13 percent. While the groups that recorded a decrease in index or deflation were group III (housing, water, electricity, and fuel) as deep as -0.31 percent and group VII (transport, communication and financial services) as deep as -0.12 percent. For group VI (education, recreation, and sports) there was no change in index, but there were subgroups that experienced inflation and deflation.
Commodities recorded contributing to or contributing to inflation in July 2019 include: cayenne peppers, bananas, filter clove cigarettes, pam drinking water tariffs, snacks / snacks, apples, rocks, red chilies and instant dry noodles.
From 82 CPI cities, 55 cities experienced inflation and 27 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Sibolga (North Sumatra) by 1.88 percent and the lowest in Makassar (South Sulawesi) by 0.01 percent. The deepest deflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku) by -1.55 percent and the shallowest was recorded in Gorontalo (Gorontalo) by -0.02.
