In November 2019, Singaraja City experienced inflation as high as 0.22 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 145.34. The calendar year inflation rate was recorded at 2.15 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2019 against November 2018 or YoY) was recorded as high as 3.01 percent.
Inflation (m to m) is shown by the increase in the index in five expenditure groups, namely group V (health) as high as 0.52 percent; group I (foodstuffs) as high as 0.42 percent; group VII (transportation, communication and financial services) as high as 0.24 percent; group II (processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco) as high as 0.22 percent; group IV (clothing) as high as 0.12 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and fuel) as high as 0.02 percent. While for group VI (education, recreation, and sports) the index did not change, but some sub-groups experienced inflation and deflation.
Commodities recorded as contributing to or contributing to inflation in November 2019 include chicken, green beans, cucumbers, shallots, kretek cigarettes, vegetable tomatoes, cooking oil, bananas, lubricants / oil, garlic, bottled water and spinach.
Of the 82 CPI cities, 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Manado City (North Sulawesi) as high as 3.30 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in Malang City (East Java) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung) as deep as -1.06 percent, while the lowest deflation was recorded in Denpasar City (Bali) and Batam City (Riau Islands) as deep as -0.01 percent respectively. If sorted from highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 37th out of 57 cities experiencing inflation.
