In June 2020, Singaraja City experienced inflation as high as 0.32 percent with the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 104.94. The inflation rate for the year in June 2020 was as high as 1.26 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2020 against June 2019 or YoY) was recorded as high as 2.41 percent.
Six expenditure groups recorded inflation, namely group IV (equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance) as high as 0.93 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.72 percent; group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 0.49 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.24 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.03 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, one expenditure group recorded deflation (m to m), namely group IX (education) at -0.07 percent. Four other expenditure groups recorded that the index did not change or were stagnant, namely group VI (transportation); group VII (information, communication and financial services); group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) and group X (providing food and beverages / restaurants).
Commodities recorded as contributing to or contributing to inflation in June 2020 include chicken, pork, tuna / ambu-ambu, canang sari, and multiroof / metal roof tiles.
Of the 90 CPI cities, 76 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi) as high as 1.33 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in Makassar (South Sulawesi) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Ternate (North Maluku) as deep as -0.34 percent while the shallowest deflation was recorded in Padangsidimpuan (North Sumatra) as deep as -0.02 percent. If sorted from highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 31st out of 76 cities experiencing inflation.
