In September 2022 Denpasar City recorded inflation as high as 0.56 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (2018=100 base year) from 111.71 in August 2022 to 112.34 in September 2022. Meanwhile, the calendar year inflation rate ( year to date/ytd) and year-on-year inflation rates (September 2022 against September 2021 or year on year/ YoY) were recorded as high as 5.66 percent and 6.96 percent, respectively.
Of the eleven expenditure groups, seven expenditure groups experienced inflation (m to m), namely group VI (transportation) of 9.43 percent; group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants) by 0.73 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) by 0.32 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) by 0.25 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) by 0.23 percent; group V (health) by 0.09 percent; and group VII (information, communication and financial services) by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, three expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) by 3.24 percent; group I (food, drink and tobacco) as deep as 1.67 percent; and group XI (personal care and other services) as deep as 0.12 percent. Meanwhile, one other expenditure group, namely group IX (education), did not experience a change in index or was stagnant.
Of the 90 cities monitored by the National Inflation, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in the City of Bukittinggi (West Sumatra) as high as 1.87 percent, while the deepest deflation was recorded in the City of Manokwari (West Papua) as deep as 0.64 percent. If sorted from the deepest deflation, the City of Denpasar with inflation as high as 0.56 percent ranks 75th out of 88 cities experiencing inflation.
