In October 2022 Singaraja City was recorded as having experienced a deflation of 0.16 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 113.02. The October 2022 calendar year inflation rate was as high as 3.94 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 against October 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 5.83 percent
Two expenditure groups recorded deflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) by 1.42 percent, and group VII (information, communication and financial services) by 0.04 percent. Seven groups experienced inflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) as high as 2.45 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 1.04 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 0.82 percent; group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants) as high as 0.54 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.15 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.03 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the other two expenditure groups did not experience changes in index or were stagnant, namely group V (health); and group IX (education).
Of the 90 cities monitored for national inflation, 61 cities experienced deflation and 29 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli City (North Sumatra) as deep as 1.48 percent, while the highest inflation was recorded in Manokwari City (West Papua) as high as 0.76 percent. If sorted from the deepest deflation, Singaraja ranks 38th out of 61 cities experiencing deflation.
