Development of Bali Province Consumer Price Index January 2024

In January 2024, year on year (y-on-y), Bali Province experienced inflation of 2.61 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2022=100) of 105.31. The highest inflation was recorded in Tabanan Regency at 3.79 percent with a CPI of 107.50 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Denpasar City at 2.12 percent with a CPI of 105.25.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to the increase in prices of observed commodities as indicated by the increase in the CPI in ten expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose as high as 6.01 percent; clothing and footwear group as high as 2.02 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group as high as 0.72 percent; health group as high as 2.13 percent; transportation group as high as 0.65 percent; information, communication and financial services group as high as 0.07 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups as high as 3.15 percent; education group as high as 3.16 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group as high as 1.75 percent; and the personal care and other services group as high as 0.59 percent. Meanwhile, one group recorded a decline in the index, namely the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group, which fell by 0.09 percent.

On a monthly basis (month to month / m-t-m) and year to date (y-t-d), Bali Province recorded deflation of 0.09 percent each.
