Abstract
In December 2017 the city of Denpasar recorded inflation of 1.07 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 127.17. The calendar year inflation rate of 3.31 percent equals the year-on-year (YoY) inflation rate of 3.31 percent.
Inflation was indicated by the increase in index in the foodstuff category by 3.38 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 2.21 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.33 percent; transportation, communication and financial services group by 0,05 percent; education, recreation and sports groups by 0.02 percent; and health group by 0,01 percent.
The commodities listed contributed to inflation in December 2017, among others: rice, rice with side dishes, chicken meat, red pepper, cayenne pepper, banana and housekeeper's wages. The recorded commodities have decreased prices or withstood the inflation rate, among others: glasses, bottled water, soft drinks, apples, and mobile phone call rates.
