Poverty Profile in Bali in March 2019

Abstract

The percentage of poor people in Bali in March 2019 was recorded at 3.79 percent, or decreased by 0.12 percentage points against September 2018.

 

The number of poor people in Bali in March 2019 was recorded at 163.85 thousand people. This number has decreased by 4.49 thousand people compared to the number of poor people in September 2018 which recorded as many as 168.34 thousand people.

 

During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the percentage of poor people in urban and rural areas has decreased. The percentage of poor people in urban areas was recorded down from 3.36 percent in September 2018 to 3.29 percent in March 2019. The percentage of poor people in rural areas also decreased from 5.08 percent in September 2018 to 4.88 percent in March 2019 .

 

During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the Disability Poverty Line rose by 3.13 percent, from Rp 388,451 per capita per month in September 2018 to Rp 400,624 per capita per month in March 2019.

 

During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) recorded an increase of 0.018 percentage points, while the Poverty Severity Index (P2) decreased by -0.001 percentage points.

 

During the period September 2018 - Mater 2019, income inequality in Bali represented by the Gini ratio increased by 0.002 percentage points
