Bali Economic Growth in 2019

Abstract

The total economy of Bali in 2019 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at the current price (adhb) was recorded at Rp. 252.60 trillion, while GDP at constant prices (adhk) was recorded at Rp. 162.78 trillion. With the projected population of Bali in 2019 of 4.34 million people, PDRB per capita based on current prices will reach 58.24 million rupiah.



Bali's economy in 2019 was recorded to have grown by 5.63 percent, slower than the growth in 2018 which recorded a figure of 6.33 percent. The economic structure of Bali in terms of business fields in 2019 is still dominated by Category I (Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink) with a contribution of 23.26 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the largest contribution was recorded in the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT), amounting to 47.96 percent.



The Balinese economy in the fourth quarter of 2019 (y-on-y) was recorded to have grown 5.51 percent or experienced a slowdown when compared to the same period in the previous year which recorded a growth of 7.59 percent. In terms of business fields, the highest growth was achieved by Category D (Electricity and Gas Procurement) which recorded a growth of 11.95 percent. Meanwhile, when viewed from the side of the main supporting expenditure for economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2019, namely the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P), it was recorded that it grew by 10.4 percent.



On a (q-to-q) basis or when compared to the previous quarter, the Balinese economy in the fourth quarter of 2019 recorded a growth of 0.77 percent. In terms of business fields, the highest growth was achieved by Category D (Electricity and Gas Procurement) which recorded growth of 9.79 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth was recorded in the Government Consumption Expenditure (PK-P) component of 28.49 percent.
